As many of you have known in the past, I can have some views and opinions on things that go against the grain for a lot of what the fitness industry may recommend from a weight loss standpoint. Well, this email will continue that trend of speaking on the truth of a couple very popular fitness trends in the industry right now!
In regards to becoming leaner, particularly for individuals with an endomorph body type. While there is a popular trend of participating in HIIT and Spin classes, there is a more effective way to achieve your body composition results.
Firstly, we have to look at what is the biggest challenge an endomorph faces. It isn’t excess body fat like most people would think. Their number one issue is a slow metabolism. The excess body fat is a byproduct of them having a slow metabolism. Address the problem at the source and now you have found the solution for sustainable weight loss results for an endomorph.
Sweating and burning calories alone, like in those HIIT and Spin will not necessarily help with building metabolism, improving athleticism, and aiding in fat loss. Instead, I propose focusing on the following methods:
✅️ Eating 10% to 20% less than your maintenance calories
✅️ Prioritizing protein
✅️ Following a strength training routine that applies progressive overload
✅️ Creating a cardio conditioning routine that is based on gradually building endurance
By following these techniques, endomorphs can effectively drop body fat while building muscle. This involves lifting weights that gradually get heavier over time, rather than just participating in high-intensity classes that are focused on burning calories and making you sweat!
